EC-Council University

EC-Council University (ECCU) is a private institution of higher education, licensed by the New Mexico Higher Education Department and specializing in educating Information Assurance leaders.  ECCU currently offers two programs --  the Master of Security Science (MSS) and a series of five graduate certificates. 

The focus of the programs is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Information Security Science and as well as the principles of management, communication and organizational leadership.  The program enables students to broaden, deepen and focus their information assurance knowledge and skills for careers in industrial, governmental or commercial organizations.  It empowers IT professionals to take on the challenges of managing and leading others in project management, policy development, disaster recovery and organizational change and renewal.

ECCU is a division of the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants, known as EC-Council.  EC-Council is a member-bsed organization that certifies indivduals in various e-business and information security skills.  It is the creator and owner of the world famous Certfied Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI) and EC-Council Certified Sedurity Analyst (ECSA)/Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT) programs.  EC-Council has trained over 80,000 individuals and certified more than 30,000 security professionals.  

EC-Council has been accredited by the Ameican National Standards Institute (ANSI) to meet the ANSI/ISO/IEC 1724 Personnel Certification Accreditation standard for its Certified Ethical Hacker (CEHv8) certification.  EC-Council is one of a handful of certification bodies, whose primary speciaization is information security, to be awarded this much sought-after quality standard.  

With these impressive acomplishments, EC-Council suppots and promotes its academic divsion to offer the EC-Council University Master of Security Science as a blend of course work in Information Assurance and management designed to educate IA professionals in deeply technical areas as well as in management, communication and leadership.

Each qualifying certification you hold counts for up to three college credits and you can transfer up to 9 certification credits toward the Master of Security Science degree! In addition to the full degree program, ECCU has announced the launch of 5 Graduate Certificate programs offering the following certificates: Information Security Professional, Digital Forensics, Disaster Recovery, IT Analyst and Executive Leadership in Information Assurance! Each Graduate Certificate offers a blend of functional skills and management/executive education to create effective leaders in Information Assurance.

ECCU courses are delivered 100% online in 8-week terms.  ECCU is now accepting enrollments for both the Information Security Professional Certificate and the Master of Security Science programs.  Applications for admission must be received by April 16th for enrollment into the May 7th Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures – ECCU 501 course. This course prepares students to challenge the EC-Council CEH exam and awards 3  credits toward the ECCU Graduate Certificate | Information Security Professional or the Master of Security Science degree.
